To me Thomas Elliot Wise Rowntree was: courageous, helpful, loving, vindictive, revengeful, protective, caring, financial advisor, financially stable, thoughtful, smart, and most of all my dad! He was always there for me to chat with and about anything that was troubling me. He had this ability to make big problems seem simple and less complex. He always had a solution for my problems. Now I am left with a big hole inside. He was always available to give a helping hand to anyone who was in need. Even if things were outside his skill or knowledge level but found it to be a challenge and would show up with good cheer. He could enter a room and would slowly win the room over with his stories. Every year we would have boys weekend. My friends would instantly call him dad or Turbo from his working days. My friends became his friends and he had many special relationships with them. Over the years, he volunteered his time to coach hockey and volunteered his time with charitable organizations. This was done to make the world a better place. His love for my mom, my sister, my wife, my kids, his family, and friends has made me the man I am today. Although I may shed tears, it is not tears of sadness, it is tears of happiness for life, and tears of joy for him making me the person I am.
