Bailey, Zella Rosena Hope (nee Smith)

With great sadness, the family of Zella Bailey announces that she passed
away on April 24, 2017, in Belleville General Hospital after a short
illness. Zella was a well-known member of the Madoc community. She had a
lengthy career in nursing and in her more recent years was known as an
artist. She sold her painting at many venues in Madoc including the market.
She was very well loved by her family.Pre-deceased by parents Frederick (Roy) Smith and Sarah Wilson, brother Jim Smith (late Mary) as well as husband Christie Bailey, and son Wayne Kay
(Liz, Kingston). Zella leaves behind children; Sharon Dupre (Lyle),
Napanee, Diane Kay, Duncan B.C., Jim Kay (Anabel Lunar), Trenton. Step
children; Jane Derry (Mike), Morven, Joan Campbell (Don), Stirling, Ralph
Bailey, Madoc, and Eric Bailey, Cooper. Grandchildren; Robin Dupre (Grant
Roberts), Mike Dupre (Jingyuan Wang), Steve Dupre, Kendra Valente (Jamie),
Tyler Kay (April Craig), Liana Kay (Simon Jones), Aaron Kay, Ethan Kay,
Dave Campbell (Jenn Durrant), Mark Campbell (Anna), Krista Derry (Chris
O’Gorman), Adam Derry, Katie Bailey (Will), Brittany Renaud (Paul),
Jennifer Bailey (Dave), Craig Bailey. She also leaves behind 15 great
grandchildren who loved her. Zella is survived by her brother - in -law
Donald Stewart Kay of Burlington,Ontario and by several nieces and nephews.
Zella was active, independent, and full of life until her final days. She
will be forever missed and in our hearts. Celebration of Life to be held at Madoc Community Arts Centre on Sunday April 30th from 3-5 pm.
