It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Smit at Quinte Hospice on Saturday December 24, 2022, at the age of 52. Beloved husband of Tammy Waite and father of Jayden and Jenna Smit. Dear son of Wayne Smit and the late Nellie Smit. Cherished brother of Diann Shandraw (Mike) and Carol Smit. Son-in-law to Patricia Waite and the late Robert Waite. Brother-in-law to Lori Waite (Tom) and Brian Waite (Cindy).
Uncle Wayne to Phylicia Wiggin (Wayne), Micheal Wiggin (Brooke), Michelle Shandraw, Danielle Decker (Seth) and Josh Decker (Sydney). Great Uncle to Sophia, Ben, Caraline, Alaina, Max, Molly, Cohen and Theo.
Wayne and Tammy met as teenagers and built a wonderful life together. He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. Wayne was loved by many long-time friends. His door was always open to have a beer, tell a story or watch a hockey game. Go Leaf’s go!
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and is now at peace, joining his mom and best dog ever, Lego.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Wayne’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
