Obituary for Sharon Lee Newman (Goldie) Mrs.

NEWMAN, Sharon
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the death of Sharon Goldie Newman, in her 87th year. Born in Brockville on June 6th, 1936 to Ruby Mae (Clarke) and Frederick Goldie. Sharon attended BCIVS for high school where she met her dearest friend Karen Garvin. Sharon lived briefly in Ottawa before returning to Belleville to raise her children Cindy Newman Finlan, Rick Newman (Jennifer), and Lisa Newman-Chesher. She is survived by her grandchildren Jenna Chesher (Tyler) and Hanna Chesher (Quin), Amanda and Krista Newman, Patrick Finlan (Joelle), Ben Finlan (Katherine) and Claire Ng (Jason), and her 4 great grandchildren Jack, Torynn, Remy and Wyatt. She is predeceased by her parents, brother Clarke Goldie, grandson Jason Newman, great grandson Logan Lancelotte and former spouse William Arthur Newman. She will be dearly missed by her sister-in-laws Sandra Campbell and Elinor Mullen, dearest friends Karen and Jack Garvin, niece and nephew Robyn Goldie and Mark Goldie, Shelley Young Newman and best companion Payzlee. Sharon became part of the Brooke Bond/Westwood girls during the 1970/80’s.
She enjoyed her Belleville Bridge Club for many years. She taught Sunday school at Christ Church Anglican. She volunteered with Ladies auxiliary at BGH. She was a past resident of the Quinte Living Centre. Sharon loved time with her children and grandchildren and recently spending time with Megan, PSW. She enjoyed her time by the water, cottages and beaches.
We send many thanks to the ICU team at BGH especially Dr Leong, Dr Reynen, Dr Hollett, Dr Weinstein, Dr Link and family physician Dr Kelton. A special thanks also to ICU nurses Sierra, Gini, Mary Louise, Kristen, Kaitlyn and Hollie, and to TMH and BGH ER staff.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
