Obituary for Ronald Jack Sedore

Ronald Jack Sedore (1931 - 2022) passed away December 25 after a brief illness.
He was born and raised in Point Anne, Ontario.
He is predeceased by his parents, Charles Sedore, Mellissa Sedore (Stinton), and his wife, Joan Sedore
(Newton). He is also predeceased by siblings, Ralph Sedore (June), Jean MacDonald (Harold), Norma
Cox (Carl), Vicky Hulsman (Jim). He is survived by his sister, Reta Lewis (Sid).
Ron is survived by his children, Ronald Jr., Denise Lloyd (Greg), Brian, Barry, and Dianne Sedore-McCoy
(William).
He is also survived by grandchildren, Mary Ann Lloyd, Sara Sedore, Melissa McCoy (BJ Kiddle), and
great grandchildren, Kathleen/Katie, Finnigan, and Ivy.
He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Ron worked for 36 years at Canada Cement LaFarge, both at Point Anne and Bath, ON, as a Millwright.
He was a volunteer firefighter in Point Anne and Thurlow Township for over 20 years.
He was goalie for the Canada Cement hockey team in the Trent Valley Hockey League as a young man.
Ron enjoyed country fairs, especially the horse pulls, fishing on Silver Lake, and daily walks along the
Belleville Bayshore trail to see the swans and turtles.
He drove right up until his illness, making frequent drives to Point Anne, Tyendinaga Territory, and Prince
Edward County. He was the best storyteller, and many of his stories related to his childhood in Point
Anne, and local travels. He was happiest spending time with his three great grandchildren and hearing
about their lives. His chats with Katie, hockey talk with Finnigan, and dancing with Ivy always made him
happy.
His final words of wisdom to us were to be happy and live a good life. He reminded us of how much fun
we'd all had together.
He worked hard, he played hard, and he raised his family. He is now reunited with the love of his life, our
Mom, whom he affectionately called 'Dodie'.
Cremation has taken place. As per Dad's wishes he and Mom's ashes will be interred at the Belleville
Cemetary in the spring, when the flowers bloom (his exact words). A celebration of life will be held at that
time.
