Obituary for Metro Pessarjuk

On May 13, 2022, in his 85th Year, Mike (Metro, Mitrik) Pessarjuk, also known as “Blue Eyes or Smiley”, passed on to eternal life at OHC Trenton Memorial Hospital.

Beloved husband of the late Tamara (nee Krasnokutsky). Brother to Wera Kruczek (Werner)of Oberhausen, Germany. Stepfather to Irene deRee (Fred)and family of Milton, Svetlana Burton and family, of British Columbia as well as his late step son John Iwanenko and family, John Brown of Pennsylvania, USA. He is deeply missed by his friends Susi and Dieter and his dog “Sparky”. Mike was born in Berchomet, Romania, Ukranian decent on February 5, 1937. At the age of 6, Mike and his mother fled Romania to Austria in a horse and buggy. Within a few months his mother passed away with Typhoid. In 1956, at the age of 19, Mike immigrated to Canada and lived in Toronto. He joined forces with a group of guys to start Strato Steel in Bolton, where he was a partner from 1967 – 1984. He spoke highly of this time in his life as his “Best Years”. He and his friend Tony started the company years before in a garage in Richmond Hill. He loved working outdoors which made living in Kettleby on their large property, perfect. He build a love Cabin for Tamara, by his manmade pond at the back of their property. He helped many friends with renovations and building, he was a hard worker and a very hands on guy. Mike enjoyed being a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Newmarket and the Lions Club in Pottageville.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be posted shortly.
