Obituary for Mary Nancy Sue DeLong (Horne)
DELONG, Mary “Nancy” Sue – nee Horne (August 7, 1941 – December 30, 2022)
Nancy was the loving wife and best friend to the late Robert “Bob" (Buck) DeLong (July 5, 1942 - August 3, 2020) for over 60 years. Cherished Mom to Lynne Dinner (Stephen), Janice DeLong (late Mike Martin) and Thomas DeLong (Brenda). Much loved grandma to Shawn (Chelsey) and Emily. Proud and adored great grandma Nancy to Blake, Riley and Jaxson. Nancy was the eldest child of the late Susie and Horace Horne. Nancy will be missed enormously by her brothers and sisters - David (Peggy), the late Hilda (late Frank), Edna (late Hank), Jody (Al), Jim (Monette), Barb (Kelly), Penny (Al), the late Ross (Jeanette). Nancy is survived by Bob’s sister in-laws Lorraine, Gladys, Grace and Edna. Predeceased by Bob’s sisters Julia (Harold), Mary (Bill), Laura (Dale) and brothers Henry “Hank”, William, John, and Kerryson. Aunt Nancy will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Nancy will also be remembered by both her and Bob’s extended families and friends. A celebration of both Nancy’s and Bob’s lives will be held on Saturday, January 21st, from 1-3 at the Port Hope Lions Center, 29 Thomas Street, Port Hope. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart & Stroke foundation, Northumberland Hills Hospital - Dialysis Unit, or to a charity of your choice.
