Obituary for Marion June Wardhaugh (Matthews)

Died Tuesday, May 5th, 2020, Belleville, ON in her 92nd year from complications related to Covid-19. Marion JUNE Matthews was born January 19, 1929 in Belleville to C. Garfield Matthews and Hilda I. Adams. Loved wife and best friend of the late Harry G. Wardhaugh (2010) for 58 years. Loving Mom of Kathryn and her husband Scott Berry, Judy and her husband the late Paul Chisholm (2013), and Paul Wardhaugh and his partner Ted Marshall. Loved by her grandchildren Royce, Stephen (Scarlett) and Graham (Carolyn Schmid) Berry, Brett (Anya-Deane Best) and Kyla (Wes Ahrens) Chisholm. Proud great grandmother of Cheyanne, Cyrus and Maverick Berry, Wickham and Senya Chisholm and Brayden Ahrens. She is survived by her brother Jack Matthews and his wife Dicia and predeceased by her sister Marilyn Matthews Rollins (2016) and infant brother (1930). June was very active in sports during her years at BCIVS where she lettered in basketball and softball. She was a bookkeeper for Rollins Lumber (Foxboro), when the company closed in 1982, June launched her favourite career - full time Granny. Mom & Dad's shared interests like playing ball, fishing the river and an overlapping circle of family, friends and neighbours led to a strong happy family life for us kids. We'd like to thank the staff of Birch Villa and Hastings Manor for their care of Mom, our family has shared a lot of laughter there over the past 3 years. A family celebration of Mom's life will be held at a later date following cremation and interment in St. James Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, ON.
