Obituary for Margaret Franziska Rampp

Shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 3rd in palliative care at Belleville General Hospital, Margaret “Oma” Rampp passed at the age of 92. Standing tall at 4’6”, she was a dynamo who loved her final decades living here in Belleville. Her home-baked Christmas cookies were loved by so many in the Quinte region. Her Schnitzel Fests, with their many courses, will always be the stuff of legend. She had learned her culinary skills as a city girl in Austria where her family owned a successful restaurant. She came to Canada after a brief time working in England after WWII. She lived a life of love and laughter with her family in Toronto then moved to Belleville. She was the beloved wife of Ludwig Rampp (pre-deceased), mother of Christopher (Brenda) and Patrick (Susan) and Oma to Harrison, Dillon (Jena), James and Katie. There will be no service at this time but a private family internment will take place at a later date. Many thanks to Dr. Maureen Simmons for many years of excellent care.
