Obituary for Lorna Mary Jennifer Bell (Bell)

With profound sadness, we said good-bye to Lorna M. Bell (born February 20, 1948) – a beloved sister, loving Aunt, generous Grantie, compassionate friend and friendly neighbour. Lorna left this world on Monday, March 1st, 2021. She endured decades of health issues with a smile in her eyes, arms wide open for a hug and a profound sense of joy from spending time with her loved ones.

At 73 years old, Lorna was the second oldest of twelve children. She became a Nurse’s Aide at the age of sixteen and settled in Ottawa, ON for twenty plus years. With the passing of her Father, Robert William Bell, Lorna moved to Westport, ON to reside with her Mother, Marjorie D. Bell. A move to Burlington, ON followed, with Trenton becoming her home for the last twenty years.

Zipping around town on her electric wheelchair, Lorna ran her errands, spent as much time as she could by the water and always made her way to the Trenton Public Library. She was a lover of the ocean, whales and any kind of nature. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, which we promise to continue to “make special” for everyone.

Whether it was a five-dollar bill wrapped in a home-made ornament, a card filled to the brim with her beautiful cursive writing, or a novel-sized text filled with more emoji’s then words… anyone who knew Lorna knew her kindness, her selflessness, and most importantly, her love. “I love you tons and miss you more. Love to all”.
