Joyce Borthwick (Doussept) passed away peacefully with her family at her side on July 3, 2022 at the age of 72.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband and best friend of 49 years, Richard; her
children, Jason (Patti) Borthwick of Newmarket and Tiffany Twofoot of Merrimack, NH; and her
grandchildren Evan, Haylee, Jaymes, Harley, and Kirsten. She was the loving sister of Glenn, Ted, Arnot
(Arlene), Edith, Connie, John (Pauline), Ken (Colleen), Bill, and Betty (Harry Wright).
She is joined in everlasting life by her mother, Wilma, her sister, Edith, her brothers Glenn (presumed)
and Ted, her son-in-law, Alan Twofoot, sibling-in-laws Alan and Helen Borthwick, Yvonne Borthwick, and Aurele Desbiens.
She will be deeply missed by her dear friend, Joanne (Richard) Downing, her brother-in-law, David
Borthwick, and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was born in Chapleau and raised in Skead. She moved to Toronto in 1972, where she met the love
of her life, Rick. In 1986, she moved with her family to Stouffville, then to the Belleville area in 2004. She
worked for many years at V. Fraas in Toronto. She really enjoyed the simple things in life including
wildflowers, birds/wildlife, and country music. However, her biggest joy was spending time with her
children and grandchildren and always being their biggest cheerleader. There is nothing she enjoyed
more in life than spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Belleville General
Hospital for their care and compassion.
