Obituary for John Milton Kearns

KEARNS, John Milton...Passed away at Belleville General Hospital on April 22nd
2023, after a hard and relentless battle with cancer.
John will always be loved and missed by his wife of 54 years, Marg Kearns (Ford);
his sister, Jane (Bernd) Janssen; his son, John (Sarah), Joshua (Sheila), daughter
Amanda (Johnny) Hartley; grandfather a.k.a. "Pops" to Cobe Stoll (Chelsea),
Amaya and Javin Pay-Kearns, Corban and Sloan Kearns, and Great Grand Pops to
Finnegan Stoll. John is a special brother-in-law to Dianne (Keith) Balcombe, Paul
(Veronica) Ford, and Ted (Jodi-deceased) Ford and will be missed.
Predeceased by his parents, Milton and Loretta Kearns and his firstborn son,
Joseph Milton. He will be missed by his Aunt Sue and nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
John had an exemplary career in the Newspaper business but, what mattered
most to John was his family and friends. John enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting
and cherished his days spent on the Bay of Quinte with friends and loved ones.
John could often be found in his kitchen or by his BBQ, planning, prepping, and
executing meals while listening to tunes from the 50's and 60's.
By John's request, there will be no service or Celebration of Life, so in honour of
his memory, please raise a glass to toast his wonderful life.

Do not stand
By my grave and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep---
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with the morning's hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand by my grave, and cry-
I am not there,
I did not die.
