Passed away peacefully on March 31, 2022 with family by his side in his 99th year.
Beloved son of the late Gilbert and Emma Thompson of Moira. Husband of 70 years to Jean Beverly Thompson (Reid). Loving father to Robert Thompson, Paul Thompson, Beverly Thompson (Wayne Wall), Lee Thompson. Survived by younger sister Iva Graham (Gord), sister in-laws Mary Reid, Lois Thompson and Barbara Thompson and brother-in-law Jim Jeffs. Loving brother to many deceased siblings. Douglas will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Emma, Jacob, Hannah, Maija and extended family. "Uncle Doug" to many. Special thank you to the caring staff on Quinte 5, at BGH, and to the special PSWs who took care of Douglas in his home. In keeping with Douglas' wishes a cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 4th at The Belleville Club from 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
