Obituary for Douglas James Kane

KANE, Douglas James

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doug Kane, who died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 1st, 2021 in his 82nd year. Son of the late John and Fanny Kane. He is forever loved by his wife of over 57 years Jean (nee Tompkins) of Stirling, as well as daughter Mandy Kane and son John Kane (Frances Zeng) both of Toronto, and sister Eleanore Bush of Stirling. Predeceased by sister Evelyn Farrell. Doug will always be remembered as a fun-loving in-law, ‘outlaw’, uncle, cousin and friend.

Doug founded Campbellford Farm Supply in 1983 and owned it until sold in 1996. He previously worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia, and later as an outside sales rep for Ralston Purina. He was the first Secretary of the Quinte Antique Tractor Club and continued to be actively involved for many years.

The Kane family would like to thank Dr J. Campbell (Belleville), Melanie (CRDC Kingston), and ParaMed nurses Larissa and Theresa.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation arrangements have been made with Quinte Cremation & Burial Services Ltd. If desired, donations in Doug's memory can be made to Belleville Wesleyan Church (25 Holloway St, Belleville, ON, K8P 1N8 | https://bellevillewesleyanchurch.org) or University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (55 Rideau Street, Suite 4 Kingston, ON K7K 2Z8 | https://uhkf.ca)
