Obituary for Douglas Eugene "Doug" Boomhower

BOOMHOWER , Douglas

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Doug Boomhower in his 77th year. Doug died at home after a courageous hard-fought battle with lung cancer in the loving arms of his wife and soulmate of 54 years Bev (nee Jones) Also by his side were his cherished children Rob and Lori (LaPalm), along with his precious dog Sophie.

Loving father-in-law of Shawn LaPalm, and proudest Grandpa of Tyler, Kurtis, Kaitlyn, Brad, Ryan, Colin, Jenna, Luke, and Jack.

Cherished brother of Ralph (Betty), Heather (Mike Brant), Sister-in-law Linda, Doris (Wes Fraser), Jean (Bob McIntosh), Barbara (Bob Engleder) and predeceased by Lois, Harold (Linda), and Carl.

Brother-in-law of Gerry (Judy), Barb (Gerrard Genereaux), Doug (MaryAnn), Sister-in-law Carol, Donnie (Carol), Greg (Cathy) and predeceased by David and Fred.
Loved by his many, many nieces and nephews.

Doug was the hard-working business owner of Doug’s Ceramics for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending his winter months with his second family at Heartland Park in Florida. Doug was well known for his prized 1958 Edsel, but more importantly being an all-around great guy who would help anyone, anytime.

In keeping with his wishes a cremation and private family service will take place at Belleville cemetery.
Donations in memory may be made to Dr. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic at Belleville General Hospital.
