Obituary for Dale Patrick Mallory

It is with very sad hearts that we announce the passing of Dale (Butch) Patrick Mallory on Thursday, April 14th. Dale passed peacefully in his sleep at the cottage. He was the loving husband of Heather Mallory, the devoted father of Matthew (Rachael) of Whistler, Adam (Davis) of Toronto, and Stacey Donovan (Ryan) of Grafton, and the extremely proud Poppa to Nolan, Quinn and Ronan Donovan. Dale was the brother of the late Norm (Shirley), Beverly Jenners (Larry), Gail Regan (Dennis), and David (Karen).

Dale had a very successful career as a machinist and millwright before he retired. He previously worked at Quinte Machine, Quaker Oats, and IKO Industries. Since retiring he was so busy with life that he wondered how he ever was able to fit work into his schedule!

We all have many incredibly happy memories of our dad in our lives. From hearing stories about the shenanigans of his youth to the trips we took as youngsters ourselves (Aaaa we’re all gonna die! Haha!), we will miss him dearly. We are an extremely close family and thoroughly enjoy spending our time together. We will think of him fondly as we go out fishing on the lake or take his boat out watching his grandsons tube or waterski. We will remember how he enjoyed each moment and truly lived in the present. We will watch the Montreal Canadiens play the Toronto Maple Leafs and laugh, thinking about how much we used to tease each other. We will have bonfires in the summer at the cottage and look for satellites in the sky.

A lesson we have all learned is to cherish each moment you have with your loved ones and be sure to live each moment. Hug them close and enjoy your time together. This is something our father always told us.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the summer.
