Obituary for Clarence Wesley Elliott

Clarence Wesley Elliott

Clare was born on September 20, 1939, and died January 29, 2023.He served in the Canadian Armed Forces from age 17 to 50, and was proud to have achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and to have been appointed a Member of the Order of Military Merit. He was a
skilled craftsman and woodworker. He was hugely into do-it-yourself from scratch and tackled just about every home improvement and restoration project imaginable. His daughters thought he could make and fix anything, and often relied on that.
Clare was a hard worker, an avid reader of all genres of fiction, a follower of current events, loved a good story, had a wonderful sense of humour, and seldom complained.
He was a great collector of things that might someday be useful, which he would tuck tidily away and bring out when anyone said they needed something.
Most of all, he was an excellent and loving husband and father, supportive of his wife and daughters in everything they did.
Clare is survived by his wife Judy (Crittenden), who he married on Boxing Day in 1963 and lived with at or near air bases across Canada before settling in Trenton, Ontario. He also leaves his daughter Nancy Elliott and her husband Richard Dyke, daughter Deb Elliott and her husband Mark Murphy, and grandsons Nicholas Dyke, Joshua Dyke (Amanda Nauss), Samuel Dyke, and Jackson Murphy. He was
heartbroken by the death of his youngest daughter Kim from breast cancer in 2003. Clare was the second youngest of 12 siblings, and is survived by his brothers Mansell and Ken.
Cremation has already taken place, and there will be no service. Please no flowers, and no donations are
necessary.
