Obituary for Charles Edwin Reynolds

Charles (Charley) Edwin Allan Reynolds, 81, of Brighton, Ontario, died March 22, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born March 9, 1939 in Stirling, Ontario, the son of the late Dorothea (nee Thompson) and Edward Reynolds. He is survived by his four siblings: Janet Belcour (Glenn, deceased), Edwin (Grace), Robert (Ellen) and Thomas (Janet).

Charles worked at Nortel Networks for most of his life and retired in 1991. This allowed him to devote his time to his true passions: music, golf and watching the Green Bay Packers. He loved golf so much that he continued to work in retirement as a greens keeper, marshal and a starter at Oak Hills Golf Club and Bay of Quinte Golf Club.

Charles is survived by his wife Carol (nee Carmichael). He also leaves his children Katherine, Debora (David), Karen (Frank), Shalma, Thomas (Kristy) and Amanda (James) and twelve grandchildren Scott, Jillian, Gordon, Staci, Dionne, Bethany, Liam, Hope, Karsyn, Tayah, Callum and Cameron and twelve great-grandchildren with another on the way.

Charles has a very large extended family full of nieces and nephews, brother- and sister-in-laws and his larger than life presence will be greatly missed at family celebrations and get-togethers.

Charles had the ability to make a very big impression on everyone that knew him and will be fondly remembered by friends and colleagues.

“Who loves ya, baby?”

“May God bless you and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young.”

Bob Dylan
