Obituary for Cecilia Mary Templeton (Rimmer)

Templeton (nee Rimmer), Cecilia Mary – Passed away
peacefully at Trenton Memorial Hospital on April 12, 2022 at
93 years of age. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill)
Templeton. Cherished mother of Carol Ann Mahler (John), Dan,
and Karey. Dear grandmother of Nicole, Cameron, Matthew
and Nicholas who will forever cherish searching for yard sale
treasures and never-ending back scratches from their
grandma.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to an English immigrant family,
Cec is predeceased by her parents, Clara and William Rimmer,
her brother Wilf Rimmer (Kae) and her sisters Joan, Mona
Sweeney (Joseph) and Margaret Massier (Robert). She will be
fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
Cec’s joy was her family. From the ‘stay-at-home mum’
generation, she wouldn’t have had it any other way. Her home
was her sanctuary with the door always open for friends and
neighbours who stopped by for coffee and a chat. When not
caring for her kids and husband, she could be found hard at
work selling Tupperware or working on some craft project. Cec
was a member of the Quinte Arts Council and the Craft Guild.
She taught arts and crafts classes at Loyalist College and to
many in her basement craft emporium.
Cec lived for her children but she really came alive when she
was blessed with grandchildren. Her four grandkids were her
pride and joy. You could find her spending time with them
creating something special from her craft supplies - cutting,
gluing, painting and beading all sorts of wondrous things. Or in

the kitchen teaching them to bake cookies, tarts, cakes and of
course rewarding everyone with a lick of the bowl and beaters.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at
St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 140 Dundas Street West, Trenton
on April 21 st at 11:00am. As expressions of sympathy,
donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
