Goerke, Alfred (Fred) – Passed away on Friday August 11th, 2017 at Trent Valley Lodge in Trenton at the age of 80. Dear husband of Carol for 45 years. Loving father of Elizabeth Bentham Clark (Damon), Belinda Ellis , all of the UK, Robert Goerke (Carol Ann), of Belleville, and Christa Kitagawa (Christopher) of Milton. Dear Opa of 10 wonderful grandchildren; Sam, Sophie, Jack, Anna, Isabella, Tristen, Violet, Olivia, Finn, and Maddi. Brother of late Christa Meyer, and survived by his sister Elfriede Albrecht, both of Germany. Fred was a respected teacher at Loyalist College for over 30 years. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cremation has taken place as per his wishes. There will be a private gathering and celebration of Fred’s life, at his favourate place, the cottage on Weslemkoon Lake. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Canadian Cancer Society. We wish to thank the staff at Trent Valley Lodge for their care and kindness to Fred for the past couple of months. Also, thanks to Dr Kaladeen.
